The Team
The MSH team are here to advise and help you. We aim for a positive working relationship between you and your landlord.
What we all do:
Cooper Healey is the Manager of MSH. Cooper has worked in public and private sector housing since 1998, dealing with all kinds of student accommodation
Keith Lowe is the Deputy Manager of MSH and is also responsible for the day-to-day running of the University Leased Housing Scheme. Keith knows about all kinds of property issues having worked in both the public and private sector for nearly 20 years.
Ann Lowe is our Office Administrator and ensures the smooth running of office systems. Ann also provides administrative support for University Leased Housing and has worked with ULH for over 10 years.
Sian Cummins is our Marketing Administrator responsible for coordinating our promotional activities.
Christopher Mcilhinney is our Housing Officer, providing housing advice to students and landlords as well as administering the Code of Standards and any Code Complaints. Chris joined us from a housing association background and is very knowledgeable about housing issues.
Ben White and Matt Whittle are our Receptionists. Ben and Matt are both students at the University of Manchester.
How we can helpAt Manchester Student Homes, we'll do our very best to advise you if you have problems. When you drop in to see us, make sure you bring any letters you've sent to your landlord and/or they've sent to you and your contract.
From January 2008 it is compulsory for all landlords who advertise with us to sign up to our Code of Standards. This means that, if you find your home through us, there's more we can do to help you if there's a problem or dispute. You might want to make a Code Complaint against your landlord if you think they've broken one or more of the clauses of the Code. You'll need to read the Code carefully and fill in a Code Complaint Form, which you can get from our office. We can often offer mediation between you and your landlord. As you can probably appreciate, we'll need to get their side of the story as well. We then try to bring things to a fair resolution that suits both sides as far as possible.
