Forum
Please read this carefully before using the forum.
The forum is very well used and a popular way for students to contact other students for:
- Accommodation Available - for students who are offering accommodation
- Accommodation Wanted - for students that are looking for a place to live.
- Looking for a house share - for students looking for someone to share with.
- Looking for short stay accommodation - for students looking for accommodation between one and six months.
- Single Semester Accommodation - if you need accommodation for one semester only or have a room to offer for a single semester
- Postgraduates - if you are a postgraduate looking for accommodation, looking for postgrads to share with, or have a room to offer that would be suitable for a postgrad
The Forum is for student to student contact only. Messages from, or which appear to be from, non-students or landlords will be taken down. Students who own properties can't post on the forum. Please don't give your landlord's details in a forum post - if your landlord wants to be contacted directly s/he will need to register with MSH.
The forum is in the public domain and is a part of the Manchester Student Homes website. It is important that no offensive or potentially inflammatory content appears anywhere on our website. Posts which contain this kind of material will be taken down.
Safety and Security tips:
As the forum is universally accessible you should be conscious of your own safety and security when browsing and/or posting.
- Don't post the number of your house on the forum. You shouldn't advertise the exact location of a student house in the public domain. However, when arranging to view a room make sure you're given the house number before you visit. This is so you can tell someone exactly where you're going.
- Be aware that any contact details you post are in the public domain.
- Always visit houses with a friend and never arrange to meet anyone alone or in a secluded location.
- Always tell someone exactly where you're going.
- Don't respond to posts which appear to be from landlords or non-students or to landlords or non-students who contact you in response to your post.
Please report any abuse of the forum to us, whether you discover or suspect it.
Manchester Student Homes has no way of checking the quality of the accommodation being offered on the Forum or the credentials of the person contacting you.
